As a mother of one (and pregnant with another on the way) nothing is more important to me than our children. My husband Jean-Claude and I attended a fundraiser at Kirribilli house that raised money for five wonderful children charities. We were honoured to personally meet The Honourable Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia and his amazing wife Mrs Margaret Abbot. Both spoke very passionately about the importance supporting these great charities, and the importance of helping children in need.Jean-Claude and I were also honoured to listen to the address of the Honourable Dame Marie Bashir who also supports these charities especially Central Coast Kids in Need. Her Excellency Dame Marie Bashir said that children were the future of our country. They are the most precious resource we have. And that is very true.

We are very thankful to attend such an amazing evening. Below are the amazing charities that funds were raised for.

Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW, one of only two in Australia, and the only one in the world affiliated with a children’s hospital.  We provide support, respite and end of life care for children with terminal illness and their families.
Bear Cottage is located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, in Manly.  Our vision is to be as far removed from a hospital environment as possible. Staff don’t wear uniforms, no medical procedures are carried out in the bedrooms, and children’s rooms are designed to look like a normal bedroom.

CCKIN are a small volunteer group of 20 fundraisers, we get no government assistance and are a not for profit organisation. Central Coast Kids In Need raises funds to assist local families on the Central Coast with accommodation costs to stay with their sick children while undergoing specialised treatment in Sydney/Newcastle hospitals.

Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating condition, which results in the progressive deterioration of muscle strength and function. The most common form is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which primarily affects boys.

SHINE for Kids is a registered charity which supports children with a parent in the criminal justice system. As many as 17,000 NSW children will go to bed tonight knowing that they have a parent locked away in prison. These ‘invisible victims of crime’ have done nothing wrong, but they suffer terribly. For over thirty years, SHINE for Kids has provided a range of services to help children and young people affected by parental incarceration.

The Burns Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead is the paediatric component of the NSW Severe Burn Injury Service. It is the referral Unit for all major paediatric burns in New South Wales, also caring for major plastic surgery and general surgical patients.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia is a leading youth development charity, enabling and empowering young people to realise their full potential and build a brighter future. Open to all young Australians between 14 and 25, the Award’s program is particularly effective and life changing for high need and special need youth.

40 years around the sun

40 Years Around The Sun A Photographic Celebration of My Favourite Sunrises and Sunsets From Around the Globe As my 40th birthday approaches, in the midst of a pandemic, and without the option of a big party or far flung travel adventure on the cards, I’ve found another novel (COVID-friendly) way to celebrate. I’ve decided to utilise my skills as a photographer, bundled together with my passion for travel, to create a visual compilation of my favourite sunrises and sunsets from around the globe. Entitled 40 Years Around The Sun, this video art project is exactly that; a celebration of my own experience of forty years around this dazzling star, featuring 40 photos, all taken on my beloved Leica camera. It is a revival of my most treasured travel memories, in video form, a selection of my best photography work throughout the years, featuring the burning orb that connects us all; the sun. Even though I can’t physically travel with family or friends, I can still take them on a virtual
